Curious what is the best Tongkat Ali supplement out there? You managed to find this article so I won’t belabor what Tongkat Ali is too much, but I will give some brief background information.
Tongkat Ali, also known as Longjack, or by its latin name Eurycoma Longifolia, is an herbal supplement native to Indonesia and Thailand. The people of those countries have been using it for hundreds if not thousands of years for an increase in energy and sex drive.
While it was not known until recently, the reason Tongkat Ali is so effective in increasing energy and libido is because it increases free testosterone levels, in effect making a man into a younger and more virile version of himself.
So what is the best Tongkat Ali supplement?
As Tongkat Ali has exploded in popularity in the past twenty years, a lot of brands have shown up as well. And it should come as no surprise that a large majority of them are imposters. On Alibaba you can buy fake Tongkat Ali powder for $10 a kilogram and even get it encapsulated and labeled.
The reality is anything for anywhere close to this price is not Tongkat Ali. Tongkat Ali is an expensive herb to grow and then process. First off, they don’t start having high concentrations of the active ingredients that raise testosterone until the plant is a mature adult tree at around 10 years old. Second, they can’t be grown just anywhere. The rainforests of Indonesia have unique soil and climate conditions that support growth. That’s why it is very hard to trust companies that have been around for just a couple years and are selling products at a significantly cheaper price than it should take to grow, harvest, process and package.
The one company that has been around since before Tongkat Ali was popular is Sumatra Pasak Bumi.

IN 2020, I decided to put Sumatra Pasak Bumi to the test against two other popular Tongkat Ali supplements – one that costs $47 for 100 pills and one that costs $52 for 120 pills. Granted it is only a small sample size, but the person who took Sumatra Pasak Bumi saw an increase in free testosterone of 87% while the other two people saw no change and a 10% (not statistically significant) increase.

Based upon this I decided to start taking Sumatra Pasak Bumi on a regular basis. I tried several other brands here and there and nothing really compares. If I was to give a second place award, it would be Herbolab. Herbolab is slightly cheaper at around $63 but the capsules are smaller so I needed 3 rather than 2 and it only comes with 80 capsules rather than 100. After adjusting for both these factors, Sumatra Pasak Bumi was the more affordable option.
